FAQ

What format do you use?

I am 100% digital and use Canon Digital SLR cameras with the professional EF lenses.

With your portrait package, what do I receive?
The sitting fee is for one hour, on location or in a studio setting, depending on your choice. You'll recieve your proofs, either in a bound notebook, or 4x6 prints. The proofs are yours to keep. You may then order additional pictures at specified rates.

Do you keep the digital files?
I do keep all files for all portrait and corporate photography. However, I will sell a HiRes CD to a client for a special rate.

What is wedding photojournalism?
Like news journalism, wedding photojournalism takes pictures as the action happens. Many couples find that it's more enjoyable to look back at pictures that represent true memories…the bride putting on mascara, the groom sharing a laugh with a best man, children dancing at the reception.

Will you take any traditional pictures?

Sure, and will be happy to do so! I will work with you closely to find out your specific needs for pictures of family and friends.

Do you have a time limit with weddings?
Since I'll only schedule one wedding a day, I won't rush you at all. The time I'm there depends on the contract we negotiate. I do like to arrive at least two hours ahead of time to take those all-important "before" images.

How many pictures do you take at weddings?

For a four-hour wedding, I shoot a minimum of 300 images. For an eight to ten hour wedding, I've shot as many as 1000 images. All images are then edited and retouched for color and contrast.

Do you do Bridal portraits as well?

Yes, I shoot outdoor bridal portraits for $120 sitting fee.

In your corporate photography, will you travel?
Yes. I've shot on location in both North and South Carolina. Per diem rates apply for mileage and travel. Coporate photography rates will be by the hour, from the time I am on property, until the time I leave.

Do you take "cutesy" pictures, like children in wash buckets, silly poses for brides and grooms?
Uh…no. Not that there's anything wrong with that type of photography! If you want those types of pictures, I'll be happy to recommend some fine studios to you. I like to put the emphasis on the person, keeping the background simple. Since my photography is outdoors, nature provides us with stunning backdrops and lighting. Who needs a wash bucket?
